The two friends reached the epiphany of realizing that science was merely "a big set of lies agreed upon" earlier than their other classmates.  They used to started spreading their comments among classmates that science was nothing more than a process of producing mountains of garbage in order for real valuable minerals to be prospected by good scientists.  Since they were in the Earth and Space Science department, they imitated their professors' tones by saying: "a rate of 4% valuable mineral was considered an extremely rich mine in the business of diamond or gold extraction".  Those comments implied that majority of their professors were doing nothing more than generating garbage during most of their careers, especially while they were directing students writing thesis or dissertations.  Some professors believed David and Wise Guy, two undergraduate students with such thoughts in the third year, were the best students they had ever had.  But others believed they were the most hopeless kind of science students they had ever seen.  Judging by their achievements and demeanor, the second group of professors were ironically the mediocre ones.

Now David felt he had further perfected his skills of blemishing hard works from more scientists, he couldn't wait to show off such newly developed skills to his old buddy.  While imprudent listeners could be incensed by his remarks, careful listeners sometimes appreciate what he had to say.  He believed that if there were listeners appreciate his new "research findings", Wise Guy would one of those on top of the list.

"Do you remember that I failed the course called 'Theory of Modern Mechanics' in my freshman year?", David reminded his friend.  "Well, the thing that brought me closer to that subject was: because I failed the test, I had to study the subject twice to prepare for the makeup exam.  Therefore I got the opportunity to read at least the non-mathematical description about that theory which I failed worst -- the Theory of Relativity.

People often say that things described in theory of relativity are difficult to observe in everyday life, but I seem to sense then left and right, east and west, up and down, everywhere I turn these days.  They funny thing is that those theory of relativity phenomenon are not easily seen in the labs, but easily seen in societies.  It's like us cannot understand Japanese, Koreans or even Cantonese at first, but when someone point out to us how they are connected to our own language of dialects, we suddenly feel 'Oh, Duh!'.   Remember there used to be people talking about this thing called 'Social Darwinism'?  I felt like seeing this 'Social Theory of Relativity' everywhere in history books or news events.  Thank God, 'Social theory of relativity' is a word which does not have the suffix 'ism" in it, so it cannot be categorized as just another 'ideas' or 'isms'".

"Theory of Relativity.  Man I don't remember that very well and I didn't need to all these years.  After all, I got higher grade than you did and I was the smarter one, therefore I can afford to forget and still lead a good life".

David decided to give his friend a refresher course on Theory of Relativity:

"The effects of theory are not very easy to see if not mentioned.  Since God created the universe, if one believes in that sort of thing, people lived in relativity but did not feel it.  Stephen Hawking said in the 1920's, when a journalist asked the famous physicist Sir Eddington 'rumor said that you are one of the only 3 people in the world today that truly understands the Theory of Relativity".  Sir Eddington paused and thought for a moment then said: 'I am still trying to think who the third person was'.  Famous professors after getting a somewhat clear understand of the Relativity Theory tend to think like the snobbish Sir Eddington.  Or probably using the of 'supply and demand' economists' view, deep inside, physics professors probably want to monopolize the theory, so they can be this scarce resource of 'physics God' and earn big bucks.  Or they can be like the Catholic priests of the Medieval Ages that act as the group of interpreter of God residing between heaven and earth.  For whatever reason, theory of relativity just never seemed to be something to be passed along to kindergarten kids or unschooled peasants, even though its non-mathematical description can be easily understood by anybody coming out of an ordinary Chinese high school.  I see many other things such as NASA findings or DNA application in criminal justice system treated much less secretly than the theory of relativity.
